Education & Training
A Memphis native, Dr. Gabrick earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, where he developed a lasting appreciation for the intersection of art and science. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his surgical internship at Wake Forest University.
He then pursued an elite, fully integrated plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he received comprehensive training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. His aesthetic training was further enriched through advanced mentorship with leaders in breast and facial rejuvenation, including Dr. Mary Gingrass in Nashville, Tennessee, under whose mentorship he refined his expertise in aesthetic breast surgery. He subsequently trained with Dr. Timothy Marten at the Marten Clinic of Plastic Surgery in San Francisco, where he advanced his expertise in the High-SMAS facelift and sophisticated facial rejuvenation. At Refine Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics, he further advanced his training with Dr. Lucas Bryant in extended deep-plane and preservation facelift techniques.
Dr. Gabrick also completed a competitive post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University, earning national and international recognition for his studies in rhinoplasty, craniofacial surgery, and breast reconstruction. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed journal Annals of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Gabrick holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine at Belmont University.
