The Procedure: What to Expect

Surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 2.5 to 4 hours. Dr. Gabrick makes carefully planned incisions, reshapes the breast tissue, lifts and secures the new breast mound, and repositions the nipple-areola complex.

If augmentation is performed, implants are placed either above or beneath the muscle, depending on your anatomy. In a reduction, excess tissue and skin are removed to achieve your desired size.

The chest is supported with a soft, surgical bra, and recovery begins in a calm, closely monitored environment. Most patients return home the same day.
