Education & Training
A Memphis native, Dr. Gabrick earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, where he merged his love of art and science. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his surgical internship at Wake Forest University.
He then pursued an elite, fully integrated plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he trained in comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. His training was further enhanced through mentorship with leaders in aesthetic surgery at the Marten Clinic of Plastic Surgery in San Francisco and Clymer Facial Plastic Surgery in Nashville.
Dr. Gabrick also completed a competitive post-doctoral research fellowship at Yale University, earning national and international recognition for his studies in rhinoplasty, craniofacial surgery, and breast reconstruction. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters, and currently serves as an associate editor for the peer-reviewed journal Annals of Plastic Surgery.
A Return to Tennessee
After refining his surgical skills at Destin Plastic Surgery, a high-volume destination practice known for complex aesthetic work, Dr. Gabrick returned to Middle Tennessee to be closer to his family and roots. His scope of practice includes facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and breast surgery, with special expertise in endoscopic breast augmentation, scar-minimizing techniques, gluteal fat grafting, and revision procedures.
